Sephiria 1.0 Full Release Guide — What's Actually New in the Launch

Sephiria 1.0 launched July 31, 2026 on Steam. Developed by TEAM HORAY (the Dungreed studio), the full release ends 484 days of Early Access (April 2025 → July 2026) and 58 EA updates. The Steam rating remains Very Positive — reflecting strong player reception through Early Access and into 1.0.

The game has 6 chapters and 6 weapons, and the story ends at Chapter 6 — there is no seventh chapter.

What's New in 1.0

1. Final Chapter: Chapter 6 + Ending

  • The story ends in Chapter 6 with 2 bosses (the Pillar Summoner and the final boss), 1 mini-boss, and a proper ending with credits — the narrative arc is complete.
  • The Chapter 6 boss gauntlet has no recovery rooms — stock healing before you commit. Full breakdown: Chapter 6 & Final Boss Guide.

2. Weapon Branch Expansions (6 Branches, 200+ Upgrades)

No new weapon types — instead, all 6 weapon branches (Sword & Shield, Greatsword, Dagger, Katana, Crossbow, Staff) received new upgrade lines, totaling 200+ weapon upgrades in 1.0. Community standouts from the 1.0 content: Firelighter and Solis Missio (fire lines for the Staff), Thor Greatsword S3G and Red Snake Crusher (Greatsword).

3. Side Bag

A second inventory bag — effectively bonus backpack space that lets you carry spare items outside your main inventory. It's one of the 1.0 systems covered in the Mystic Pot Guide.

4. Mystic Pot Rework

The artifact-conversion station was reworked: trade 1 artifact for 1 of the same rarity, or 2 for 1 of the next rarity up. Re-rolling up a rarity is the efficient endgame path. Details and priority order: Mystic Pot Guide.

5. Hard Mode Extended to Level 60

Hard Mode now runs to level 60 with 6 modifiers: Festival of Blood, Pseudo-Vanguard, Decline, Tension (no potions in boss fights), Heavy Heart (carry junk artifacts), and Proliferation. Full modifier counter-guide: Hard Mode Guide (1.0).

6. New Items

The 1.0 update added new items across the board, including 3 miracle abilities — run-unlocked special abilities that change how a build executes. The full artifact pool sits at ~300 artifacts (plus ~70 tablets and 30+ potions).

What Didn't Change

  • 6 chapters — the climb ends at Chapter 6
  • 6 weapons — Sword & Shield, Greatsword, Dagger, Katana, Crossbow, Staff
  • 4-player co-op — online co-op remains the multiplayer model

Post-Launch Outlook

The developers have confirmed continued post-launch support for Sephiria. Balance changes and new content will shift the meta over time — Steam News is the authoritative channel for patch notes, and we update our guides as new information is released.

Quick Start Checklist for Launch Day

  1. Pick a weapon — 6 branches, all viable. New players: Sword & Shield is the most forgiving.
  2. Climb to Chapter 6 — the final chapter unlocks after Chapter 5's boss.
  3. Reroll artifacts at the Mystic Pot — 2-for-1 rarity upgrades are fast power growth.
  4. Unlock the Side Bag early via Destiny Inscriptions — extra space compounds every run.
  5. Clear Hard Mode to 60 — the endgame arc with the 6 modifiers.
