How to Get All 27 Sephiria Achievements — Hidden Triggers and the Hard Mode Grind

Sephiria has 27 Steam achievements as of 1.0.33. This guide lists every campaign unlock, explains the hidden triggers (Traveler, Where the Blue Being Lives, Soul Plan), flags the RNG alternate bosses, and gives a completion order that avoids wasted runs.

v1.0Updated: 2026-10-23
Build-number note (October 24, 2026): this guide cites 1.0.33 as the current build. The 1.0.33 announcement link could not be reopened during a QA pass on October 23, 2026, so treat the exact build number as [Unconfirmed]. The achievement list itself is unchanged and is cross-checked against two independent community sources.

Sephiria has 27 Steam achievements as of the 1.0.33 build, and they are not one list — they are two. Fifteen unlock by playing the campaign, and twelve require optional bosses, hidden rooms, a two-step conversation, or a Hard Mode climb. The official Steam global stats also show a clean difficulty curve: 77.2% of players finish Chapter 1, 32.4% watch the ending, and only 26.2% clear Hard Mode tier 30. [Official]

That gap is the useful part. Most players are not stuck on the story achievements — they are missing the optional layer on top. This guide separates the two lists, explains the triggers that the game does not explain, and gives an order that avoids re-running content you have already cleared.

What the official data says

The numbers below come from Steam's global achievement feed for app 2436940, retrieved October 23, 2026. They are global averages, not a difficulty ranking, and they move as the player base grows. [Official]

MilestoneGlobal unlock rate
Defeat the Mole Chief (Stronghold Exploration)90.8%
Complete Chapter 177.2%
Complete Chapter 537.5%
Watch the ending (Journey's End)32.4%
Clear Hard Mode tier 1 (Root's Retreat)54.0%
Clear Hard Mode tier 15 (Root's Retreat 15)39.1%
Clear Hard Mode tier 30 (Root's Retreat 30)26.2%

Two readings matter. First, Hard Mode tier 1 is more common than finishing the story (54.0% versus 32.4%), which tells you players are experimenting with the endgame before the credits. Second, the drop from tier 15 to tier 30 is only about thirteen points — the last stretch is hard, but it is not a wall that most Hard Mode players bounce off. [Official]

The 15 campaign achievements

These are the story spine. You do not need to farm them; you need to finish the game and talk to the right NPCs at the right moments.

The chapter achievements are conversation-gated, not just kill-gated. If you beat a boss and the achievement does not appear, check whether the game expects you back at the World Tree Seed before the next run. [Community]

The 12 optional and hidden achievements

This is where most completion runs stall. The list mixes deterministic unlocks with RNG-dependent boss replacements.

The four triggers the game does not explain

Traveler is the easiest to miss because nothing marks the wall. Community reports describe fine cracks along the upper edge of a dungeon wall; attack the wall to open a hidden room. You do not need a key or an item. [Community] Where the Blue Being Lives is tied to the blue portal event room, the same Pocket Dimension where Sapphires are spent on artifacts. It is a random event node, so the achievement is a matter of entering it when it appears rather than forcing a specific floor. [Community] Soul Plan is the one that produces the most "I talked to Perr and nothing happened" reports. The community-documented sequence is: talk to Perr at the top-left of the carrot fields in Bunnyville, view the tree cutscene, then talk to Perr a second time. The cutscene alone is not the trigger. [Community] The alternate bosses are floor replacements rather than new floors. The Demolition Expert replaces the Floor 1 boss, the Shadow Blade Panther replaces the Floor 2 boss, and Mutated Askard is the stronger Floor 4 version. The Panther is explicitly RNG-dependent, so plan multiple runs rather than expecting a single clean sweep. [Community]

One honest disagreement

Two community references describe Chapter V differently. One treats it as the Chapter 5 story completion; the other ties it to rescuing three hidden animals and carrying them to the Temple of Qliphoth. The official achievement data cannot resolve the dispute because it only exposes the internal name CHAPTER_5_COMP alongside CHAPTER_5_COMPLETE. Treat the three-animal rescue as an optional objective worth doing either way, and do not assume the achievement is bugged if it arrives at a different moment than a guide predicted. [Community]

The Hard Mode ladder

The three Root's Retreat achievements are the real endgame commitment. Tier 1 is reachable for most players, tier 15 is the mid-point, and tier 30 is the rarest achievement in the game at 26.2%. [Official]

Community reporting says tier 30 can be entered directly rather than climbing through every intermediate tier, and that clearing tier 30 also awards the tier 15 achievement. That routing is player-reported, not developer-documented, so verify it in your own build before planning a skip. [Community] The modifier loadout and build advice for the climb are covered in the Hard Mode Guide.

The efficient completion order

  1. Finish the story once on Normal. This clears the 15 campaign achievements and unlocks the ending context. Do not stop to farm optional bosses on the first run.
  2. Clean up the hub and hidden rooms in the same runs. Repair the house, break cracked walls, and enter blue portals whenever they appear. These cost minutes, not runs.
  3. Hunt the alternate bosses after the story flags are set. The Demolition Expert, Shadow Blade Panther and Mutated Askard appear after Chapter 1 or Chapter 2, so earlier attempts are wasted.
  4. Do the Perr conversation before you stop visiting Bunnyville. It is a two-step interaction and the most commonly missed non-combat unlock.
  5. Climb Hard Mode last. The ladder is the longest single block; doing it after the cleanup means every remaining achievement is a Hard Mode one.

What not to worry about

No achievement is confirmed permanently missable. The sources disagree about whether Soul Plan can be lost after Chapter 4, but the claim rests on a pre-1.0 report and has not been retested on 1.0.33, so it should be treated as unconfirmed rather than as a reason to restart. [Community]

Journey's End has a known unlock failure. Re-entering town on 1.0.23 or later can restore it, so check that before assuming a corrupted save. [Community]

Finally, ignore third-party rarity tables that quote exact percentages without a date. Global averages move. The official Steam feed is the only number worth comparing against your own progress. [Editorial]

FAQ

How many achievements does Sephiria have? 27 as of the 1.0.33 build. [Official] Are any achievements permanently missable?

None are confirmed permanently missable. Soul Plan is the only serious candidate, and that claim is unconfirmed on 1.0.33. [Community]

Do I need Hard Mode for 100%?

Yes. Three achievements — Root's Retreat, Root's Retreat 15 and Root's Retreat 30 — require the Hard Mode ladder. [Official]

Why did Journey's End not unlock?

It has a known unlock failure. Re-enter town on 1.0.23 or later to give the game another chance to grant it. [Community]

Official: Official Steam global achievement data for app 2436940, retrieved 2026-10-23. The API returns exactly 27 achievements and the global unlock percentages quoted in this guide: MY_HOME 92.2%, DEFEAT_BOSS_MOLE 90.8%, CHAPTER_1_COMPLETE 77.2%, CHAPTER_5_COMPLETE 37.5%, ENDING 32.4%, HARD_MODE_1 54.0%, HARD_MODE_15 39.1%, HARD_MODE_30 26.2%. Percentages are a live global average and drift as more players buy the game.

Community: GamePrimer lists all 27 achievements with unlock conditions, separates official, player-reported and unknown triggers, and flags the Journey's End unlock failure plus the Soul Plan two-conversation trigger. Its rarity snapshot is dated 2026-09-15, so its percentages differ slightly from the 2026-10-23 official figures used here.

Community: ProdigyGamers splits the list into 15 campaign unlocks and 12 optional or hidden unlocks, including the alternate-boss triggers (Demolition Expert, Shadow Blade Panther, Mutated Askard), the secret-wall Traveler route, the blue portal for Where the Blue Being Lives, and the three Root's Retreat Hard Mode tiers. This guide cross-checks it against GamePrimer; where the two disagree, the disagreement is stated in the article instead of being silently resolved.

Official: The 1.0.33 Steam announcement is the current build reference used for this guide. It is a correction pass with no new achievements: Demonic Grimoire pattern fix, Qliphoth pause/abandon fix, Meteorite Pauldrons Solar Blade fixes, Master's Tsuba effect change, Heidi text correction, Scholar Lizard costume fix and the open wall-clipping known issue. The achievement count is unchanged at 27.

Editorial: The recommended completion order, the decision to treat the Soul Plan and Chapter V descriptions as contested, and the advice to ignore third-party rarity snapshots in favour of the live Steam percentages are this guide's editorial assessment.
