Endgame Content Guide — What to Do After Beating Sephiria

Sephiria ends at Chapter 6 — beating the final boss unlocks the ending and credits. But the tower is far from done. The 1.0 endgame is a clear progression ladder: every activity feeds your permanent progression (talents, inscriptions, artifacts, weapon mastery), and each mode feeds the next.

The Endgame Progression Order

StepActivityWhat It Gives You
---------
1Beat Chapter 6 (the ending + credits)Access to the real endgame
2Farm Normal clears for sapphires and artifactsPermanent progression — talents, inscriptions, artifact unlocks
3Attempt Hard Mode (level 60 climb with 6 modifiers)The toughest challenge in the game; hard-mode experience
4Run Gauntlet Mode for score and practiceWave-based challenge with a leaderboard; boss-pattern practice
5Grind weapon mastery and hunt achievements (27 total)Mastery perks, cosmetics, and completion

The Endgame Modes

Hard Mode — the real campaign

Hard Mode extends the climb to level 60 with 6 modifiers on top of base difficulty: Festival of Blood, Pseudo-Vanguard, Decline, Tension, Heavy Heart, and Proliferation. All chapter bosses return with tuned-up stats, and Tension (no potions during boss fights) makes bosses where most runs end. This is the definitive challenge for veterans.

Full modifier breakdown and strategies in the Hard Mode Guide.

Gauntlet Mode — the wave-based score ladder

Gauntlet Mode is the endless challenge: wave-based survival with a score leaderboard. You face an escalating series of waves with a fixed loadout — there is no healing between waves, and the gauntlet continues until you die. Your score (driven by kill speed, combos, parries, and clean waves) determines your leaderboard rank and rewards.

  • No rest points — health carries over between waves, so sustain decides your ceiling
  • Wave scaling — difficulty rises every few waves, with elite and boss "break waves" on a regular cadence
  • Score is king — a fast, clean run always beats a slow safe one; chase tempo, not just survival
  • The deeper you go, the more your build must heal itself — sustain builds (healing, defensive artifacts) outperform burst builds past the mid-waves

Weapon Mastery & Collection

The long-tail endgame:

  • Weapon mastery — each weapon has its own mastery progression that grows only while you use it. Mastering every weapon unlocks the full perk set and makes you a flexible co-op partner.
  • Achievements — 27 achievements total; some unlock permanent artifacts with build-defining effects.
  • Artifact collection — ~300 artifacts at 1.0. Permanent artifacts are unlocked through specific achievements, not random drops (see the Artifacts Guide for unlock farming).

A Sustainable Endgame Session

A healthy endgame loop looks like:

  1. A Normal or Hard Mode run (20-40 min) — sapphires for Destiny Inscriptions, artifact unlocks, mastery progress
  2. A Gauntlet Mode attempt (15-30 min) — score chasing and boss-pattern practice without run commitment
  3. Short sessions — one Gauntlet run or a speedrun attempt still progresses your account
The golden rule: every run gives sapphires, even failed ones. The permanent progression (talents, inscriptions, artifacts, weapon mastery) makes each subsequent run easier — the endgame is a marathon, not a sprint.

What Comes Next

The developers have confirmed continued post-launch support for Sephiria. Balance changes and new content will shift the meta over time — the Full Release Guide tracks the 1.0 state of the game, and we update our guides as patches land.
